GM, BFF: She floats through the air with the greatest of ease

Web3 is not unlike a circus. An environment where limits are constantly defied and the most agile actors soar to great new heights, a single day in Web3 comes with dramatic climaxes and breathtaking lows. After all, we are witnessing the evolution of human history, money and tech play out before our eyes.

In the world of Web3, visionaries like former Cirque du Soleil acrobat and Webacy founder Maika Isogawa show us what good can come from embracing the unknown and defying convention. This week, BFF contributor Sabrina Bonini highlights Isogawa, whose story serves as an example of how talented multihyphenates can find success in this emerging new market.

Born and raised in a small town near Tokyo, Isogawa's multicultural upbringing nurtured her curiosity for life's boundless possibilities. Her journey took unexpected turns, from pursuing astrophysics at prestigious universities to captivating audiences globally as a Cirque du Soleil acrobat. After her time with the circus, she found herself exploring computer science and cybersecurity, eventually leading her to a role at Microsoft.

Guided by curiosity and cross-cultural connections, resilience like the kind Isagowa possesses makes Web3 professionals well-equipped to navigate the ups and downs of our volatile industry. And as we soar into this new era of possibilities, let us remember the journeys of those who dare to fly through the air with the greatest of ease — as this former acrobat does.
